so the last few weekends have been filled with our friend's Thomas and Summer's baby shower (sweet little Wesley is due any day! yay!), me starting summer classes.. um... yay? :) i haven't been in school in the summer since freshman year. can't say i've missed it. gazing out at the sunshine during looooong lectures is sometimes almost too much to bear. :)
somewhere in there i began my "training" for a 5k (more on that later) and on the first morning came upon a little abandoned puppy. he stayed with us for three stressful and eardrum shattering whining-filled days until he could go to a shelter in nashville. at the shelter they named him Henry :) and found in a good home. The experience made us very grateful for our sweet pup Libby.

we have also made the trip to cookeville to celebrate Christina's college graduation.. she now has her bachelor's degree in nursing.. yay! She's staying in cookeville to work at the hospital there. :)we are definitely proud of her...
(pics coming soon- we left our camera at home and haven't stolen any pics from Christina yet... :)
another TTU alum in the fam! (we're still working on Daniel- he wants to go to boring places like MIT and Georgia Tech... soon we will convince the little national merit valedictorian of the error of his ways... :) actually, probably not...)
After graduation we celebrated Mother's day with the Henry's at Christina's "special friend" Ben's house :) He's definitely a really cool guy, and for sure hospitable, putting up with all of us! :)
On Sunday we went in to Nashville to celebrate mother's day with my side of the family. Jeff made the Barry Payne/Terry Russell special baked beans- I may even post the recipe on here sometime! Let's just say they are unhealthy, manly, and very good! :)
Jeff taught Jack to pop his collar... the first of many important life lessons he'll learn from his uncle!
now we're up to this past weekend... The Strawberry Festival. that was such an adventure, it may take a separate post for that :)
