Christmas in Nashville!

Christmas in Nashville with my side of the family came the week after.
My step sister Joy and her husband Aaron were in town from New Mexico, so we were all able to get together with my dad and MiHyea at my cousin Chris's new restaurant, Soy Bistro in Brentwood. My stepbrother Derrick and his wife Bridget came down from Greenbrier, and Melanie, Josh and the boys came over from Cookeville.  I think we took up half the restaurant!  We had a fun time catching up and laughing at Jack and Wesley's antics.  Jack displayed his new found talent of telling jokes (he's still working on the punchlines though :).  Their specialty is a Korean taco- which sounds a little strange, but is actually really good! Typical of me in this season of life, I took no pictures that night, but we had a fun time!
Our third and last Christmas was at my mom's house in west Nashville on New Years Day.We picked up Granny (mom's mom) who lives in Gallatin near us, and made the trip down.  Mel, Josh, and the boys were there as well as Daniel- the college boy! My mom, Steve, and Daniel had just gotten home from a trip to San Diego the night before.  We missed my brother John, and his wife Abby and little Julia.  We got to see them just before Thanksgiving when they came to visit.  We had our customary sausage balls, seafood gumbo, and famous guacamole.  In between appetizers and main course we opened presents.  I think Christmas with kids is always really fun.  This year Jack was old enough to help us open our presents, pass them out, and be really funny.  My favorite part is when he opened a gift that wasn't a toy, and it was quickly thrown aside while he dug through the bag looking for the "real" present.  So funny.  I surprisingly took pictures at this gathering...
We always have a tear jerker present- this year it was a portrait of my late Grandaddy for Granny.  He was a handsome guy!

Too cute! Wesley showing his sitting up skills, holding a present from cousin Julia

Daniel and Jack who must have just told another joke :)

Granny- she gave us each goody bags this year full of practical and fun gifts- she always has the most fun presents

these pictures are great...can you send the me one of Granny and the one of Wesley? btw-I'm so thankful that even with all our running around for Christmas time, it's so special to celebrate it with you and Jeff (and soon baby bean) TWICE each year!
