the Yard part three

Jeff's awesome parents: Harroll and Linda came and spent several days helping us do the "demolition landscaping" we had to start with... before the yard took over the house! Seven days, gallons of sweat, two terrible cases of poison ivy and countless mosquito bites later...:) here's what we got done:

the front of the house- the only thing left are the redbuds, an unknown evergreen bush we planned to transplant and few weeds hanging on


front right bed- notice the ring of dirt around the forsythia bush- that's how big it was before they got a hold of it! :)


front middle bed- Linda valiantly weeded this and I then transplanted- and we believe this is where we may have gotten our lovely poison ivy rashes from... the things we sacrifice for home improvement... er.. our kids' home improvement... Sorry Linda!

corner of the carport- used to be an Oregon grape bush, and wild plants resembling basil and mint that grew to about four feet...

This was obviously a TON of work! I really gained a newfound respect for the work ethic they both have, and they passed on to their son. Thanks to Harroll and Linda for helping so much! Sometime I'll post pics of their yard in Rome, it is gorgeous. Seriously, if we can get our yard to even a little of theirs is, we would be very happy :)
