friday!!!

no new and exciting pics today...
I've literally sat at a desk and worked ALL week- the admin. assistant for the student ministry is in FL, so yours truly is filling in. As much as it would be nice for us financially for me to work full time, this week has made me grateful that I don't. At least not in an office. I have copied, stapled, hole punch sorted, deposited checks, called parents, and distributed mail for five days now... phew. And I'm glad today is the last day of it :)
although we began our blog for many reasons, the main one was to keep faraway family and friends up to date on our adventures, including the little one we were expecting. things have changed, and though we are enjoying continuing our life in blog world, i think i do want to have a more personal tone in our posts than i have had previously. i say our posts... jeff will probably not sit down to post until all the summer student ministry craziness subsides- apprx 4 weeks from now.
i guess i just wanted to give a heads up on that- sometimes its difficult to be very open in scary vulnerable cyber space... but i think for us, its important to be, in a safe kind of a way.

our lives have been topsy turvy since really we got married a year and a half ago or so. which is okay, thats part of being newlyweds i'm sure. but we are getting to a point of desiring roots, in... something.. a house would be awesome, but more probable at this point is a solid job for jeff. his internship ends in august and we're heard of a job offer here beginning in jan/feb... but are waiting on specifics before we accept. its exciting, and scary. hopeful at least that question mark will turn into a comma for us soon.
On my end, i don't know what i want :) my mom says that we are still trying to figure out what we want to be when we grow up, and, frankly, i agree. in fact, i believe that is the cry of my generation. we are adults but aren't sure what to do about it yet. we are driven, but not sure in which direction. we have jobs, but not lifelong careers.
i have wrestled with desires to go to grad school, or to start my motherhood stage. recently i was asked by a studio in town to look into teaching adult art classes there. also a fun option. i miss art. it has always been a huge part of my world and for the past year the most artistic thing i've done much of is make cute postcards to mail to students. grad school/art teacher/new mom/something else... so many choices. i think soemtimes i feel like my decisions need to be long term and right, so its hard for me to make them. thats the dilemma. :)

enough of this, a HUGE stack of papers is calling my name to be hole punched, stamped, and put into binders, woo hoo. the glamorous life of girls' ministry coordinator/ admin. assistant... don't be jealous. although, tonight its the upcoming high school fresh(wo)man girls night in, which i am in charge of. one of the much more fun and fulfilling parts of my job. all rising 9th graders are coming to hang out, eat demo's, and hear from the upper class(wo)men what high school is like. there might even be some pedicures thrown in somehwere too :)it wouldn't be a true girls' ministry event with out that girly-ness.
in reviewing this post,i'm getting quite philosophical in my extended, monotonous office time today. thanks for humoring me:)
fyi, in my stream-of0conciousness-writing-style; capitalization, complete sentences and organized paragraphs go out the window. i promise i'm educated! you just can't tell by my blog :)
blessings to all!
